How much does the Million Pound Lottery make Jersey Hospice Care?

We are really proud of the Million Pound Lottery, now in its 16th year, having been the biggest and one of the longest running fundraising events run by Hospice.


The Million Pound Lottery raises a grand total of £2.1 million each year, £1.3 million is given away in prizes (62%) and Jersey Hospice Care receive £800,000 (38%).

What happens if you don't sell all of the tickets?

Jersey Hospice Care will still run the draw and still award £1.3 million of prizes, all of which are guaranteed when the first ticket goes on sale in line with the requirements and our gambling permit.

Who can buy a ticket?

The Million Pound Lottery is open to those aged 18+, and those who are ordinarily residents of Jersey, Channel Islands. Please see the Terms and Conditions for full details.

How will you verify my age?

Age verification is required either by YOTI or by pre-verification account.

Accounts will be available to anyone who has previously bought a Million Pound Lottery Ticket in 2020, 2021, 2022 or a Car Raffle Ticket in 2020, 2021 or 2023 and have opted to hear about future raffles and lotteries.

How do I buy a ticket online?

Jersey Hospice Care is delighted to offer the option to purchase tickets online. You will need:

a valid email address as your ticket will be issued electronically

a debit or credit card (Visa or Mastercard only) registered to your address in Jersey

to be age verified either by:

YOTI (GOJ approved digital ID)or,

If you have an existing account you will be verified.

Can I choose my ticket number?

You have the choice of having a randomly generated number by not entering any numbers in the selection box, or selecting a number in the ticket number boxes. Ticket numbers available are between 1,000 and 7,999.


If you are selecting a number, the system will tell you if the number you have chosen is available or not available. If your number is available you will need to reserve it for 5 minutes using the red box that will appear, this ensures that no one else can choose that number while you are checking out.

Why do the tickets start at 1,000?

Tickets start at 1,000 to enable the draw of the Million Pound Lottery to work by the selection of numbers 1 - 7 in the first bowl, 0 - 9 in bowls 2, 3 and 4.

Can I buy my ticket on the phone?

We can provide help with online sales by telephone if you have been sent a preverification account.

If you did not purchase a ticket last year and cannot purchase your ticket online, please use YOTI which will allow to purchase a ticket or purchase your ticket in person at our St Ouen's Fundraising Store or in De Gruchy by the barbers.

Why do you need my Date of Birth?

It is a requirement of our gambling permit set by the Jersey Gambling Commission that we are able to produce evidence that every player in the lottery is above the age of 18. Your date of birth along with age verification using YOTI, in person sales and preverification ensures that those pieces of information are correct and you are above the age requirment for playing the lottery.
