Jersey Hospice Care is looking for a Senior Shop Manager to join our Retail Team on a full-time permanent basis, Monday to Saturday, working 5 days in 6, on a Rota basis between the core hours of 8am to 5pm, with flexibility to work Monday to Sunday working 5 days in 7, if required to cover an alternative Retail Shop.
The postholder will be based in St Ouen and will be responsible for the day-to-day running of Jersey Hospice Care’s Beau Pre charity shop, delivering a high level of customer service and through the team, maximising efficiencies in processes and achieving budgeted income.
They will work collaboratively with the Head of Retail and other members of the Retail Management Team and provide cover and support in other retail locations as required. They will build good team spirit by effectively communicating with the Head of Retail, employees, and volunteers. They will lead, manage, develop, and provide training to employees and volunteers, ensuring their understanding of their roles and responsibilities and the importance of delivering excellent customer service.
The ideal candidate will be educated to GCSE level or equivalent, have significant retail experience, along with proven supervisory or line management experience. They will need to be proficient in reconciling and handling banking monies and be able to operate to the highest standards of probity and integrity and have proven experience in looking for ways to raise standards and improve the business to maximise revenue.
