Education Practitioner (Community)

Jersey Hospice Care is looking for an Education Practitioner (Community) to join our Education Team on a full-time permanent contract.

The postholder will be based at both Jersey Hospice Care and will support the Education Lead in developing and delivering the Education Strategy for the Community. This post has a focus on developing excellence, confidence and competence in Palliative and End of Life Care throughout the Island Community and by supporting formal educational events at Jersey Hospice Care. The postholder will lead in the creation of Carer Support and Psychological and Emotional Support education.

The role requires application of leadership skill sets, change management proficiencies and educational principles to develop and support the competency and confidence of other allied health professionals and carers in the community in relation to developing excellence in Palliative and End of Life Care. This will be achieved by education in practice, education through reflection, coaching and mentoring and through formal education events.

The Community Education Practitioners will ensure that Palliative and End of Life Care education and training is delivered to the highest standard, that educational outcomes are measured accurately, and that training is accessible to all appropriate employee groups across the Community.

The ideal candidate will hold a Professional qualification in nursing or allied health care profession with significant post qualification experience, a Healthcare related Degree and commitment to undertaking study at Master’s Level (7).
