Chief Executive

HOURS: 37.5 per week

LOCATION: Jersey Hospice Care

Jersey Hospice Care is seeking a dynamic Chief Executive to lead with a strategic, people-focused approach. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in developing income sources and collaborating with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Drive the next and crucial phase of the charity’s mission to deliver exceptional palliative care to Islanders with life-limiting conditions. This will be achieved via Hospice's In Patient Unit, Bereavement and Community services and the newly approved at-home and educational services.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with Jersey’s healthcare providers and the Government of Jersey to offer Islanders genuine choice about how and where they receive care.

  • Income Generation: Implement and oversee income-generating strategies, with a focus on expanding the donor base and retail opportunities. This involves leading, and when necessary, directly engaging with the Hospice’s fundraising and retail teams and volunteers.

  • Safe Operations: Ensure the effective, efficient and safe operation of Hospice, meeting all clinical, statutory, financial, regulatory and legal requirements while delivering high quality care and services to patients and families.

 

Qualities:

  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in fundraising and a strong commercial acumen.

  • Networking & Communication: Exceptional networking and communication skills to maintain Jersey Hospice Care's high profile and excellent reputation within the community.

  • Leadership: Ability to lead a dedicated team of employees and volunteers, while nurturing relationships with a wide variety of external stakeholders.

Position Details:

  • Residency: This role requires the successful candidate to be permanently based and relocate to Jersey if a non-resident.

  • Compensation: A competitive salary, attractive benefits package, and relocation assistance if required.
