Kathy Gillies

Trustee
Kathy Edit

Originally from North Yorkshire, Kathy trained as a nurse and midwife in the Northeast of England. After travelling, Kathy settled in New Zealand for 23 years and during that time completed a BSc and went on to medical training – specialising in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She then developed her career further in caring for women with gynaecological cancers.

At 50 years old, Kathy and her husband returned to England for five years and then moved to Jersey, where she has lived and worked for the past 11 years.

During her career, she has worked with charities in Nepal educating women about safe childbirth and undertaking gynaecological surgery.

Kathy retired in Spring 2024 and joined Hospice’s board of trustees - assisting with Governance and Fundraising.
